What causes melasma?
Hormonal changes (pregnancy, contraception, HRT) and sun exposure are the main triggers. Heat and visible light can make it worse.
How is melasma assessed at HC Skin?
We assess your skin with an Observ 520x scan and a consultation. Some melasma treatments are prescription-only. If they suit you, our prescriber will discuss them at a consultation.
